Humans are a strange species. We are, to my knowledge, the only species that attempts to live in insolation from other species. We may collect in human groups – and we may have a few select “pets” – but by and large we don’t consider ourselves part of the ecosystem, and certainly not kin to other living beings. After all, we are human, and therefore we transcend animal instincts.
Well, maybe not so much. Or, maybe the traits that we think define us as human aren’t limited to our species. Isn’t it rather anthropocentric to believe that we’re the only beings that think, consider the future, reflect on the past, and have feelings? What if these are traits of consciousness, of any living being, and not exclusively human? I’m thrilled to offer a new day-long retreat for connecting to your Self, Community, and the Divine through your body and nature.
Join me at the Conscious Embodiment one-day retreat on Saturday, May 14th in Half Moon Bay, CA.
Adult program as well as an amazing kid’s deep nature connection program for ages 6-12.
The day will be spent on an idyllic farm, secluded in nature with a creek running through it, abundant flowers, hiking trails, and a meditative pond. Yoga, meditation, creative expression, and many ways of being embodied will fill our day, as we explore and share together in the springtime energies. A delicious vegetarian lunch included.

From a young age, I’ve been attracted to spirituality. In the 80’s, I followed channelers, investigated astrology, read tarot cards, collected crystals, and did a Native American vision quest. In the 90’s, I did shamanic drumming, read mystical texts, discovered yoga, studied world religions, and sat for my first meditation. My spiritual pursuits continue to this day.
Unfortunately, right from the get-go, my “know-it-all” tendency wanted my persona to be a wise sage. Bad idea.
Why? Because when you’re trying to be a wise sage, you can’t learn anything. You have to already know something to be a wise sage, and I was just a youngster! Continue Reading
